Swindon Town 1-2 Leyton East

Swindon’s play-off hopes were dealt a serious blow when centre-back Omar Beckles scored on both sides of half-time as 10-man Leyton Orient clung to victory.

Charlton’s loan-out striker Josh Davison recovered a goal with a late shot, but the visitors took maximum points.

A short-chance first half saw Beckles score against the game midway through, climbing higher into the box to connect on Theo Archibald’s free-kick.

Hector Kyprianou hindered Orient’s brilliant start when referee Sam Allison showed him a second yellow card minutes later for bringing down Louie Barry.

Tempers threatened to flare 10 minutes before half-time with a fight on the pitch involving players and managers resulting in six yellow cards, including one for former Swindon, now Orient boss Richie Wellens.

The away team doubled their lead early in the second half through Beckles when he stabbed the ball past Joe Wollacott to score his second of the afternoon.

Davison reduced the deficit with a shot from close range in the 77th minute but, despite their late aerial barrage, Swindon lacked the end product needed to take anything from the game.
