Scottish Grand Nationalwinner Win My Wings will bid to play spoiler as Kitty’s Light, Potterman and Enrilo renew rivalries from last year’s dramatic bet365 Gold Cup at Sandown on Saturday (3.32).

Trained by Christian Williams, Kitty’s Light was badly hampered by a wandering enrilo in the dying strides 12 months ago, losing second to potterman and the chance to win the race in the steward’s room as a result.

Kitty’s Light has played second-fiddle to stablemates on his two most recent starts, having finished second to Cap Du Nord in the Coral Trophy at Kempton two starts ago before he bumped into a dominant Win My Wings at Ayr last time.

The handicapper has slapped Win My Wings with a 14lb rise for that seven-length romp, while her stablemate will wear cheekpieces for the first time.

Last year’s winner Potterman gained his first win since when leading late at Kelso in March and he will be 2lb higher in his bid to defend his crown.

Enrilo, first past the post last year, bounced back from a pair of blots in his copybook when fourth in the Coral Trophy at Kempton, while fresh off riding his 200th winner, Brian Hughes will partner Domaine De L’Islewho unseated in the Grand National earlier this month.

Ireland will have two opportunities to plunder another British prize as Hewick and Streets Of Doyentrained by John Hanlon and John McConnell respectively, take their chance too.

Greeneteen bids for repeat

This season’s Tingle Creek Chase hero greeneteen bids for back-to-back wins in the Celebration Chase (3.00) and will face just four rivals in defense of his crown.

The chief danger is likely to be the Dan Skelton-trained black cloudwho arrives fresh after skipping both Cheltenham and Aintree having been a disappointing 12-length fourth behind Greeneteen in the Tingle Creek.

Sceau Royal was not disgraced behind Fakir D’Oudairies at Aintree last time and he drops back in trip to take his chance, while Rouge Vif and Sky Pirate also take up their entries.
