Fabio Paratici’s next Tottenham transfer priority for Antonio Conte has already become clear

Tottenham have been extremely quick out of the blocks this summer after already completing three transfers ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Ivan Perisic was the first to arrive on a free from Inter Milan, with Fraser Forster also joining in a similar deal following the expiration of his contract at Southampton.

spurs then strengthened their midfield last week following the capture of Yves Bissouma from Brighton & Hove Albion in a deal which could be worth more than £30million with various add-ons. Usually late movers in the transfer market in previous years, the Lilywhites really do mean business this summer under Anthony Conte and their early moves will have sent a real message out to their Premier League rivals.

Tottenham aren’t done in the transfer market just yet, needing a new right wing-back, left-sided centre-back and striker to further boost Conte’s squad. While of course all eyes will be on the next incomings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium over the coming weeks as the players get ready to return for pre-season training, Fabio Paratici’s next priority in the transfer market needs to be moving on players.

Making a real statement in January with big-money signings Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso allowed to leave on loan, as well as 2021 summer addition Bryan Gil returning to Spain, there is likely to be quite a bit of movement again in terms of outgoings as part of the squad rebuild. Exits have already taken place since the end of last season with Pierluigi Gollini returning to Atalanta following his loan, Cameron Carter-Vickers joining Celtic permanently and 12 of the club’s youngsters released.

Gollini is the only player to depart from Tottenham’s 2021/22 squad so far and now more need to follow. steven bergwijn looks a certainty to leave with a move to Ajax on the cards if they submit a suitable offer, Joe Rodon and Harry Winks require regular first-team football elsewhere and question marks surround what will happen to both Sergio Reguilon and Emerson Royal with Spurs set to have new options in both wing-back positions.

In terms of those who finished last season out on loan, Spurs should have no trouble moving on Lo Celso permanently after recapturing his best form at Villarreal and playing a key role in their run to the Champions League semi-finals. Villarreal CEO Roig Negueroles has already confirmed that the Yellow Submarines want to keep the player permanently but no talks have taken place as of yet.

Lo Celso’s exit should be relatively straightforward but that is unlikely to be the case when it comes to Ndombele. Not exactly taking his chance back on loan at Lyon, another loan move elsewhere may have to be agreed as a permanent transfer could be hard to strike due to his form and the fact Spurs will not want to part with him on the cheap after splashing out serious money for him in July 2019.

Gil and Pape Matar Sarr could also find themselves heading out on loan again if they are not going to be part of Conte’s plans for the coming campaign. The Italian will take a good look at the duo in pre-season and will then decide what is best as he will only want players in his squad who are ready to compete in the Premier League as he looks to have his side competing at the top .

Making a very impressive start to the 2022 summer transfer market, Tottenham still have plenty to do in terms of both incomings and outgoings. June’s international fixtures will have slowed down many clubs’ transfer plans with players away all across the globe but the next couple of weeks is when things could really start to pick up in the market.

Paratici’s Tottenham transfer dealings in 2022 have gone down extremely well with the fanbase and the Italian now has the opportunity to gain even more credit by moving on a number of players permanently as he looks to form the perfect squad for Conte. If he can do just that then the summer of 2022 could be a real gamechanger for Tottenham Hotspur as they look to get back to their previous heights.
